William Byron A Strong Play At Daytona
4 years agoHendrick Motorsports driver William Byron will roll off the grid in 22nd place for Sunday's O'Reilly Auto Parts 253 at the Daytona road course. It's always notable when a car as good as this 24 team starts lower than 20th, as it offers place differential upside that can be harder to come by in the Cup Series. In eight road course races in the Cup Series, Byron has an average finish of 15.9, with four top 10s but no finishes in the top five. He's a strong play, though he lacks the top-end upside that some other drivers (like teammate Alex Bowman, who starts 36th) have.
