William Byron Jr. Leads Hendricks Cars On Sunday
3 years agoIt is a bit strange seeing the Hendricks cars this far back. William Byron Jr. starts ninth at Fontana on Sunday for the Wise Power 400. Byron did inch out teammate, Chase Elliott for the position. Byron looked good in practice as he battled close to the top-five before winding up sixth in that practice session. The No. 24 car was nestled right behind teammate Alex Bowman. He got to the final round of qualifying but just could not muster enough speed in the later turns for his lap. Byron has been remarkably consistent at Fontana. He has finished 15th in all three races at the Cup level.
