William Byron Place Differential Very Real For Sunday at Atlanta
3 years agoThe other question could be whether William Byron can contend. However, starting 19th on Sunday immensely helps for place differential alone. He will likely move into the top ten fairly quickly. One thing for the Hendricks Motorsports Racing driver will be not to crash into his teammate. Byron wound up finishing 33rd after starting from the pole last week led 15 laps and then hit Larson at the worst possible time. It was just another one of those lessons learned for the No. 24 driver. Thankfully Atlanta is not a road course (see a crash at Sonoma). Byron did win a race starting from 31st at Homestead way back during the Florida swing so anything is possible. Contending is probable for Byron Sunday.
