William Karlsson, Vegas Bite Sharks With 3-1 Win
5 years agoThe Vegas Golden Knights took advantage of a strong team effort to defeat the San Jose Sharks by a score of 3-1 on Sunday night. Center William Karlsson led the way with two assists. His 43 goals in the 2017-18 season are a distant memory but he’s on pace to hit at least 20 goals for the third straight season and record at least 60 points. Struggling veteran Paul Stastny scored his first goal in 12 games but is still on pace for the worst offensive season of his career. The goal was just his third point in those 12 contests and he’s projected to score around 30 points for the 2019-20 season. Backup goaltender Malcolm Subban, who helped carry the team in Marc-Andre Fleury’s recent absence, was excellent and stopped 37 of 38 shots. He’s now allowed three goals or fewer in seven of his past eight games. The 35-year-old Fleury has been inconsistent since returning from his time away so Subban could continue to see an increased workload in the second half of the season.
