4 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher William Smith could see a healthy number of save opportunities for the club in 2021 — if he can solve his long-ball issues. The veteran left-hander had an encouraging spring with a K-BB of 12-2 in 5.2 innings but he also did not allow a home run. Last season in 18 games, he allowed seven home runs in 16 innings. He only allowed 11 hits in total so the homer rate (3.94 HR/9) is frightening. The good news is that it looks like a one-year anomaly and he's produced a strikeout rate of 28% or better in seven straight seasons. Behind him, Chris Martin, Tyler Matzek, and A.J.
