6 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher/utilityman Willians Astudillo will see action early in the season, said manager Rocco Baldelli. The team carries three catchers: Jason Castro, Mitch Garver and Astudillo. Castro started Opening Day and Garver is set to start on Saturday, but Baldelli didn't give an exact date as to when Astudillo will be in the lineup. As a rookie, he hit .355 with three home runs and 21 RBI in just 30 games. At 27, Astudillo is also able to play other positions around the infield and outfield, so the Twins could get creative with how they use him. If he is able to gain consistent playing time, Astudillo should gain value in deeper mixed leagues, especially if he eventually gains multiple-position eligibility.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
