Willie Calhoun Headed Back To Triple-A
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun was optioned back to Triple-A Nashville Tuesday. The move clears room for Hunter Pence who was activated from the injured list after battling a groin injury. Calhoun was hot upon his initial call-up in May, but then spent some time on the IL with a quad injury. Since his return on June 17, Calhoun has an abysmal .267 on-base percentage thanks to a 5.3 percent walk rate and only a 33.3 percent hard-hit rate. Calhoun is one of the Rangers' top prospects and will certainly be back in Texas before season's end. However, fantasy owners only need to hang onto Calhoun in keeper or dynasty formats.
