Willie Calhoun Starting To Heat Up
6 years agoTexas Rangers outfield prospect Willie Calhoun is beginning to heat up after a slow start to his season for Triple-A Round Rock. Calhoun is hitting .424 over his last 33 at-bats and that includes back-to-back three-hit games. Calhoun was the prized piece that the Rangers acquired for starting pitcher Yu Darvish last year and many expected that he would break camp with the club in 2018. Calhoun has seen his power dip so far but has now improved his batting average to .280 with six home runs and 26 RBI. It would be an upset if the Rangers didn't promote Calhoun in 2018, but there is no timetable as to when he might se his name called. He remains a name to keep an eye in dynasty leagues and could help those in redraft leagues if he sees everyday at-bats.
