Willson Contreras Continues To Warm Up
3 years agoChicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras went 1-for-5 with a solo on Monday versus the Cincinnati Reds. Contreras sent a solo shot to the bleachers off of Josh Osich to tie the game 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning. Contreras has now gone yard in two of his three last games. Contreras has been leading off for the Cubs ever since they dealt outfielder Joc Pederson to the Braves and it has been suiting him well. The two-time All-Star continues to have a productive year behind the plate and is now hitting .237 with 15 home runs, 35 RBI and four stolen bases. Contreras will look to continue his power surge against Vladimir Gutierrez on Tuesday.
