Willson Contreras Remains A Top Option Behind The Dish
4 years agoChicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras is hitting .263 with three home runs and eight RBI and a stolen base this spring. Contreras is projected to his in the number two spot in between outfielder Ian Happ and first baseman Anthony Rizzo. Contreras should have no issues scoring runs in that spot and is also one of the best offensive players at his position with a career .265 batting average and double-digit home runs in every season of his career with the exception of hitting seven in last year's shortened season. The catcher has been part of trade rumors, but that shouldn't make managers shy to make him one of the first catchers off the board in upcoming drafts.
