Willy Adames In Early Season Slump
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames is hitting just .182 with a .294 on-base percentage and a home run in his first 51 plate appearances this season. Adames previously hit .262 with a .337 on-base percentage, 25 home runs and five stolen bases last season. It's worth noting his BABIP has fallen from .331 last season to .259 early on in 2022, so that may have something to do with his production. The good news is that, despite the struggles at the plate, Adames has increased his walk rate so far. It's a small sample size, but the shortstop has logged a 13.7% walk rate this season. His previous career-high was 10.3% in the 2021 campaign.
