Willy Adames, Trevor Richards Traded To Milwaukee Friday
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Willy Adames and pitcher Trevor Richards have been traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for relief pitchers Drew Rasmussen and J.P. Feyereisen, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan. The bigger part of this deal is Adames, who was slashing .197/.254/.371 with five home runs, 15 RBI and 16 runs scored in 41 games. This move opens up a hole at shortstop, and while many managers will be wondering if it's Wander Franco time, the more likely Rays prospect to benefit from this trade is Vidal Brujan. The Rays had previously stated that they were not going to rush Franco because of his age and lack of experience in the upper levels of the minors, which means it's more likely that the 23-year-old Brujan who has six years of experience in the minors could get the call up. If that happens, Brujan would become an instant impact player for his speed. Looking at the other parts of the trade, Richards had recorded one save with a 4.50 ERA over six appearances this season, while also striking out 16 batters in 12 innings of work. Rasmussen and Feyereisen will help shore up a Tampa Bay bullpen that's been hit hard by injuries this year, but outside of SV/HLD formats, their value in fantasy will be very limited.
