6 years agoNew York Mets infielder Wilmer Flores has had a largely quiet 2018 season, but he made the most of his pinch-hit opportunity against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. Called upon to hit for reliever Tyler Bashlor, who was making his Major League debut, Flores crushed a three-run home run for his fifth long ball of 2018. On the year, Flores is now slashing .253/.319/.432 (.751 OPS) with the aforementioned five home runs, 11 doubles, 15 runs scored and 22 RBI. It hasn’t been as good of a season for Flores as it was in 2017 when he put up a career-best .795 OPS. Still, he’ll always be a great, cheap DFS play against left-handed pitching.--John Smith
