3 years agoOakland Athletics pitcher Frankie Montas (hand) underwent x-rays on his injured hand, which turned out negative. According to manager Mark Kotsay, the A's are optimistic that Montas won't miss a start. The A's right-hander exited Saturday's start against the Los Angeles Angels early after taking a comebacker off his right hand. The 29-year-old allowed one hit while striking out two over 1 2/3 scoreless innings before leaving. Montas avoided a significant injury and is expected to make his next start Thursday at home against the Texas Rangers. Overall, Montas has been solid this season, posting a 3.55 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and a 55:13 K: BB across 50 2/3 innings.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
