7 years agoX-rays on Seattle Mariners shortstop Jean Segura's shin on Wednesday came back negative after he fouled a ball off of it against the Padres. He's being listed as day-to-day for now. Thankfully, it looks like the elite shortstop avoided a serious injury. However, he might have to miss the start of a pivotal four-game series against the division-rival A's, which starts on Thursday. Segura had two hits, a run scored and a steal in three plate appearances on Wednesday and is hitting .317 with nine home runs, 81 runs scored, 58 RBI and 20 stolen bases. Andrew Romine could fill in for him for however long he's out.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
