7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals infielder Matt Carpenter (hand) left the game early after being hit by a pitch on his right hand on Wednesday, but X-rays came back negative. His fantasy owners just took a collective sigh of relief, but Carpenter could still wind up missing some games. He was hitless in four plate appearances with a run scored and a walk before departing. Carpenter had a slow first half but has since broke out and is batting .276 with 33 long balls and 68 RBI. Hopefully he won't miss much time, if any.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
