3 years agoX-rays turned up negative on Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Mickey Moniak's right hand on Wednesday. Moniak suffered a bruised hand in the spring game on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays when he was hit on the right hand in the fourth inning. The 23-year-old former No. 1 overall pick could be forced to miss Opening Day on Friday, but this injury shouldn't land him on the injured list to begin the regular season. With Odubel Herrera on the shelf to start the year, Moniak figures to be the left-handed side of a center field platoon with Matt Vierling in Philadelphia. In just 29 major league games over the last two seasons, Moniak has hit .128/.241/.191 with a homer and three RBI in 55 plate appearances.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
