7 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts expects a significant uptick in his performance, according to Ian Browne of MLB.com. When asked if he expects to regain his power, Bogaerts stated, "Yeah, I definitely do think so. I can definitely go out there and put up the same numbers as '16." In 2016, Bogaerts hit 21 home runs with a .446 slugging percentage. Bogaerts' 2017 season was marred by a right hand injury sustained when he was hit by a pitch just after the All-Star break. His first half slash line was .308/.363/.455, but only .232/.321/.340 in the second half. Manager Alex Cora stated Bogaerts will also be working to increase his performance through improved technique. If Bogaerts can return to his 2016 performance, it will make him a tremendous value if you can get him in the seventh round.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller
