Xander Bogaerts On-Base Streak Ends At 29 Games
3 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts did not reach base Tuesday night against the Angels, bringing his 29-game on-base streak to an end. Bogaerts nearly did extend it, as he was robbed of an opposite-field two-run home run by a leaping Juan Lagares in the sixth inning which would have given the Red Sox the lead. Bogaerts is off to a cold start to July, with just a .143/.250/.190 slash line, but the all-star starter has put together a .907 OPS for the season and should be in lineups on a daily and weekly basis regardless of any cold stretches.
