Xander Bogaerts Reaches Base Five Times Wednesday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts was feeling it on Wednesday, collecting four hits and a walk across five plate appearances in the 7-1 blowout over the Toronto Blue Jays. The native of Aruba also scored twice and added an RBI to his ledger. The game brought Bogaerts' batting average to a scorching .397 on the season. He also has one home run, eight RBI, 12 runs, and one stolen base over his first 18 games. This kind of play at the dish, although not sustainable, shouldn't be a huge surprise to fantasy managers. The 29-year-old is a career .291 hitter with a .814 OPS, and he slashed .295/.370/.493 with 23 HRs a year ago. Bogaerts will continue providing excellent production in four categories.
