6 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts will be getting a breather on Wednesday afternoon when the Red Sox take on the Washington Nationals. Bogaerts has started the past nine games, so he was due for a rest day. Brock Holt will be batting second and starting at shortstop. Bogaerts was 2-for-3 on Tuesday night against the Nationals and also slugged a three-run homer. He is now carrying a .276 average on the season to go along with 13 home runs and 47 RBI.
