Yan Gomes Starts Behind The Plate On Sunday
3 years agoChicago Cubs catcher Yan Gomes will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs have decided to give Willson Contreras the day off. That is probably a smart move considering Contreras has one hit in his first nine plate appearances of the season. Gomes will be making his team debut with Chicago during Sunday's contest. He'll be behind the plate and bat eighth versus righty Freddy Peralta. The veteran catcher is a solid addition to the roster, but isn't a favorable streaming option for Sunday's slate.
