Yankees Acquire Jake Bauers From Reds
2 years agoThe New York Yankees acquired infielder/outfielder Jake Bauers from the Cincinnati Reds on Friday in exchange for cash considerations. Bauers was a top prospect in the Tampa Bay Rays system before getting dealt to Cleveland and struggling in two seasons. He spent last year with the Guardians and Seattle Mariners, going a combined 59-for-282 (.209) with four home runs, 19 RBI, 27 runs scored and six stolen bases in 315 plate appearances over 115 games. The 26-year-old has a slash line of .213/.307/.348 with 27 homers, 110 RBI and 15 stolen bases in three big-league seasons, and he has yet to play in a major league game in 2022. Bauers was hitting just .135 (13-for-96) with three homers, 12 RBI and four steals in 29 games for Triple-A Louisville before the trade on Friday.
