Yankees and Gerrit Cole Agree To Deal
5 years agoStarting pitcher Gerrit Cole has agreed to a nine-year, $324 million deal with the New York Yankees. Cole had a career-year last season while with the Houston Astros, finishing second in Cy Young voting by recording a 2.50 ERA to go along with 326 strikeouts and 20 wins (five losses) throughout 33 starts. He is expected to be the first pitcher off the board in a majority of fantasy drafts this spring, likely being selected ahead of former teammate Justin Verlander and the injury-plagued Max Scherzer.
