4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher James Paxton (elbow) was officially placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday, retroactive to Aug. 21. The move came as no surprise, as Paxton has been shut down from throwing for the next two weeks at least, and it seems likely that the 31-year-old will miss most, if not all, of the rest of the regular season. Jonathan Loaisiga came into the season slated to take over if any Yankees starters missed time, but Michael King has emerged as a legitimate option as well.--Sam Chinitz
