Yankees Reportedly Inquired On Brett Phillips
2 years agoAccording to a tweet from NJ.com's Brendan Kuty on Monday, the New York Yankees "are among the teams who have inquired on outfielder Brett Phillips, who the Tampa Bay Rays designated for assignment on Tuesday. The Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies are in the mix, too. Phillips previously appeared in 75 games for the Rays this season, batting .147 with a .225 on-base percentage, five home runs and seven stolen bases in 208 plate appearances. New York's current outfield options on the 40-man roster include Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks, Joey Gallo, Andrew Benintendi, Miguel Andujar, Tim Locastro, Estevan Florial and Everson Pereira.
