Yankees Re-Sign Brett Gardner
4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner signed what is likely to be a one-year contract with the team on Friday. Gardner had played with the Yankees for his entire 13-year MLB career coming into 2021 and had always expressed a desire to return to the club for his 14th season, but the team's payroll and crowded depth chart added an element of uncertainty to his return. With Clint Frazier earning the team's starting left field job, Gardner will act as a fourth outfielder in 2021, giving him limited fantasy value in most leagues, even after considering the injury riddled Yankee outfield. Fantasy managers should consider Gardner only as an occasional DFS option as a result.
