2 years agoNew York Yankees skipper Aaron Boone said that the plan is to activate outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (Achilles) from the 10-day injured list on Thursday. Stanton should be back in the starting lineup immediately against the Oakland Athletics, but the team could ease him back in the designated hitter spot. The 32-year-old power hitter went 0-for-7 with three strikeouts in a couple minor league rehab games for Double-A Somerset last weekend, but the key takeaway is that he appears to be fully healthy. Stanton hasn't helped in the batting-average department (.228), but he's slugged 24 long balls, driven in 61 and scored 40 runs in 289 at-bats and will be a must-start player down the stretch.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
