3 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal will be left off of the lineup for a second consecutive game on Wednesday versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Grandal has really struggled at the plate this season with a .136 batting average, but he has six home runs on the season and has hit three over the past two weeks. There is no mention of an injury for Grandal, so it is a bit odd to see him out of the lineup for two straight games with the fact that Collins caught last night and turn around to catch an afternoon game. Backup catcher Zack Collins will once again suit up behind home plate and he will bat seventh versus John Gant on Wednesday. Collins hasn't swung the bat much better than Grandal and he is hitting just .194 with two home runs and six RBI on the season. Collins is a name for Grandal managers to consider, but managers should be able to find a better insurance option on the waiver wire. Grandal should remain rostered with a good career resume, but time is running out and managers have every right to be frustrated with the veteran.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
