2 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (back) will return to the lineup Friday against the Cleveland Guardians, catching and batting fifth against right-hander Cal Quantrill. Grandal has been out since mid-June with back spasms but is ready to return after a two-week rehab stint. The 33-year-old was having a miserable year before the injury, slashing .185/.294/.237 with just two homers in 173 at-bats. Yikes. The only silver lining is that Grandal had been decent in June before his injury with a .308 batting average and six RBI in eight games. If he's on the waiver wire and you don't have a great option at catcher, he is worth the add for his power upside alone.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
