Yasmani Grandal Set To Build On Career-Best .940 OPS
3 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal enjoyed an enigmatic 2021 season in which he slashed .240/.420/.520 with 23 home runs, 60 runs, and 62 RBI in 375 plate appearances over 93 games. His counting stats could have been much gaudier if not for suffering a torn tendon in his knee early in July. Despite the setback, Grandal's OPS sat at a career-best .940, and he is once again poised to be among the top catching options, especially in points-based and sabermetrically-inclined leagues, where his walk rate catapults him up the rankings.
