Yasmani Grandal Shifting Rehab To Triple-A
2 years agoChicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal (back) is moving his minor league rehab assignment to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. In three rehab games with Double-A Birmingham, he went 3-for-7 with a home run, four RBI, six walks and two strikeouts. There's a chance that he's able to return to the White Sox's lineup later this week, but if not, he should be ready to go to kick off the second half of the season. The 33-year-old veteran backstop has really struggled at the plate this year, hitting just .185/.294/.237 with two home runs, 15 RBI, six runs scored and one stolen base in 173 at-bats. Reese McGuire and Seby Zavala will continue to share playing time behind the dish until Grandal is ready to come off the injured list.
