Yency Almonte Takes The Loss On Thursday
4 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Yency Almonte took the loss on Thursday against the Dodgers when he surrendered three runs on one hit with two walks and a strikeout in just two-thirds of an inning. Almonte entered the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with the Rockies clinging to a 7-5 lead. He struck out Luke Raley to open things up but then went off the rails. He walked two of the next three batters and threw a wild pitch before Max Muncy uncorked a three-run home run to give the Dodgers the lead. The Rockies were unable to reclaim the lead, and Almonte was handed the loss. The 26-year-old owns a 9.45 ERA, 1.95 WHIP and 8:4 K/BB ratio over 6 2/3 relief innings this season. He's not on the fantasy radar.
