3 years agoChicago White Sox designated hitter Yermin Mercedes will rest for the second straight game with the Pale Hose facing the National League Pittsburgh Pirates on the road on Wednesday. Mercedes has been in a very big slump and is hitting a weak .133 with one home run and nine RBI over the past month. Mercedes did pinch-hit on Tuesday and went 1-for-1. Mercedes was incredible in April, but his production has really dropped off since then. Despite that, Mercedes remains the White Sox designated hitter on a regular basis. Mercedes is hitting .270 with seven home runs and 34 RBI on the season and should be back in the lineup on Friday versus the Seattle Mariners.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
