Yimi Garcia Takes His Sixth Loss Of The Season
4 years agoMiami Marlins closer Yimi Garcia took his sixth loss of the season on Tuesday, falling to 3-6 on the year. Garcia was brought into a 1-1 tie and quickly made sure to make it 2-1 Blue Jays, allowing one run on two hits, then watching the Marlins go down quietly in the bottom of the inning. At some point, the Marlins are going to have to realize that Garcia isn't a particularly good pitcher, and that he was just really lucky in the small sample size that was the 2020 season. Garcia is a fly ball pitcher who consistently gives up hard contact and hasn't posted a FIP below 5.19 in a full season since 2015. He's very much a sell-high (or at least as high as possible at this point) in most formats.
