6 years agoChicago White Sox infielder Yoan Moncada will start at third base and bat second on Opening Day against the Kansas City Royals. Moncada has been a frustrating fantasy asset over his young career. He posted solid counting stats in 2018 with 17 home runs, 61 RBI, and 12 stolen bases, but his dismal plate discipline continues to prevent him from reaching his full potential. Over the course of 211 games in his career, he is slashing a putrid .234/.319/.399. He also led the majors last year with 217 strikeouts in 578 at-bats. Until he figures out how to consistently hit at the big-league level, he is a bench bat in deeper mixed league formats.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
