7 years agoReports emerged a little while ago that the New York Mets received “good news" on outfielder Yoenis Cespedes’ thumb injury, and that he would be back much quicker than anticipated, although Cespedes himself said he would miss three games. As it turns out, “quicker than anticipated” could mean Tuesday night’s opener against the Atlanta Braves. If so, that is obviously great news for both fantasy owners and Mets fans alike. Cespedes has been driving in plenty of runs, but his .233/.292/.437 slash line leaves a lot to be desired. However, he seems to be picking things up as of late, so any missed time could have derailed his newfound momentum. We’ll update you when we know if he’s in the lineup.--John Smith
