Yoenis Cespedes Is Crushing It Hitting Second
7 years agoThe New York Mets have been toying with the idea of outfielder Yoenis Cespedes batting second this season, and if spring training is any indication, the idea will likely come to fruition to start the year. Cespedes has been crushing the baseball this spring, blasting three home runs with a .944 OPS. Always a middle-of-the-order hitter previously, Yo has only hit out of the two hole a total of 39 times in his career. But, he’s been doing it regularly in Grapefruit League games this spring, and has been so good that the Mets would be hard-pressed not to use him in that spot come Opening Day. The more plate appearances Cespedes receives, the better he obviously becomes for fantasy owners.
