Yoenis Cespedes Is Red-Hot
7 years agoLess than 24 hours ago, fantasy owners of New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes were still worried about how much time the slugger would miss after injuring his thumb on Sunday in San Diego. Not only did the answer turn out to be no time at all, he’s still catching fire, even with the injury. Cespedes finished 3-for-4 in a 3-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, smashing his seventh home run of the season in the process. He’s now up to 26 RBI, tied for first place in the National League with Javier Baez of the Chicago Cubs. Cespedes is also on a seven-game hitting streak now with two home runs, two doubles and eight RBI over that span. Finally, since April 24, he’s raised his batting average from a paltry .195 to a much more respectable .252. For those who were worried, we think you can calm down now.
