4 years agoThe delayed start to the 2020 season makes it likely that New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (heel, ankle) will make the Mets' Opening Day roster and primarily serve as the team's designated hitter. Before spring training was suspended, Cespedes had progressed to running to first base at full speed and hitting regularly in simulated games. Cespedes was in the midst of progressing from the heel and ankle injuries that had kept him sidelined since mid-July 2018. Provided he is healthy, it makes sense that Cespedes could serve as the Mets’ regular DH. Of course, even if he is fully recovered, given his recent injury history, consistent playing time is not a given with Dominic Smith and J.D. Davis potential options for the Mets at DH. That said, if Cespedes is healthy heading into the late-July season opener, he's worth a roster spot in mixed leagues and NL-only formats.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
