6 years agoThere had been some thought that New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes (hip) would be able to return from injury for this weekend’s series against the New York Yankees, but now that does not seem like it will be the case. Cespedes, on the disabled list since May 14 due to a right hip flexor injury, ran the bases on Wednesday and even took live at-bats against starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard. Still, it looks like it’s going to take a few more days. It would seem as though Tuesday’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves could be the day for his return, but that’s just pure speculation on our part. Stay tuned for more updates on Cespedes.--John Smith
