Yoenis Cespedes Thinks He Will Be Ready By Opening Day
5 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes indicated that he continues to progress from the heel and ankle injuries that have kept him sidelined since mid-July 2018. He said his goal is to play in exhibition games by mid-March, and if he continues to progress at this rate, he will be ready for Opening Day. Given his recent injury history and the Mets crowded outfield situation, consistent playing time is not a given in 2020. Much will depend on how Cespedes performs in spring training. Owners should continue to monitor this situation. If Cespedes is fully healthy and performing up to his abilities, he's worth a draft selection in deep mixed leagues and in all NL-only formats.
