4 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Yonny Chirinos has been placed on the 10-day injured list for the second time in 2020, this time due to a strained right elbow. Chirinos had previously been dealing with a triceps issue, having delivered a 2.38 ERA across his first three starts. The move adds another injury (Charlie Morton, Brendan McKay) to the Tampa Bay rotation, further heightening the workload for the club’s relief corps. Despite his encouraging numbers, Chirinos has yielded a 5.26 FIP and .321 xBA, which when coupled with his latest malady, makes the case for leaving him on the waiver wire in virtually all season-long formats.--Jesse Borek
