2 years agoHouston Astros general manager James Click said the expectation is for outfielder Yordan Alvarez (hand) to play in Thursday's doubleheader against the New York Yankees to kick off the second half of the 2022 season. He will hit on the field on Wednesday and go from there. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Alvarez to play in both games of the double dip, but it's great news that he's expected to play in at least one of the contests. The 25-year-old missed the final seven games of the first half with an inflamed right hand, but it looks like he's ready to go now. He's one of the best hitters in the game when healthy and is a must-start in fantasy when he's in the lineup. Alvarez enters the second half hitting .306/.405/.653 with a league-leading 1.058 OPS, league-leading .653 slugging percentage, league-leading 196 OPS+, 26 home runs and 60 RBI in 75 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
