Yordan Alvarez Lands On IL Due To Knee Ailment
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to knee discomfort. Alvarez made an immediate impact by homering in his first plate appearance of the season Friday, and he has gone a combined 2-for-8 at the dish across his first two outings. Alvarez now joins Michael Brantley (quad) on the IL, paving the way for Josh Reddick and Kyle Tucker to continue seeing ample time in the corner outfield spots. After having had his start to 2020 stunted due to a positive COVID-19 test, Alvarez will now face another setback and be out of action until at least next week. When healthy, he remains an elite source of power.
