Yordan Alvarez Lands On The Injured List
3 years agoThe Houston Astros placed outfielder Yordan Alvarez on the COVID-19 injured list for health and safety precautions on Friday. Alvarez has now missed the past three games with an unspecified illness. The young slugger was replaced on the roster by Joe Perez. Manager Dusty Baker told reporters that Alvarez does not have COVID-19 but he is clearly feeling the effects of some sort of illness. The COVID-19 injured list can be used for players who are showing symptoms of COVID, even if they do not actually test positive for the virus. Alvarez will be able to be reinstated as soon as he's feeling better. He is off to a slow start for the Astros in 2022, hitting just .143 with one homer thus far.
