Yordan Alvarez Out Against Orioles
2 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez (hand) is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles. Alvarez is still dealing with soreness in his right hand and will retreat to the bench for the series finale. The Astros have a day off on Monday, so hopefully he'll be feeling better on Tuesday against the Texas Rangers. Alvarez has been dealing with his hand injury for most of the second half, but hopefully he won't need an injured list stint. Trey Mancini is in left field and is hitting fifth on Sunday, while David Hensley is serving as the designated hitter and batting seventh against Orioles right-hander Austin Voth. Mancini hasn't been as good in his 20 games with Houston, going 15-for-66 (.227), although he does have six home runs and 16 RBI.
