2 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez was scratched from Friday's lineup with hand discomfort. The Astros will insert rookie Yainer Diaz into Alvarez's spot as the DH after the former was recalled from Triple-A earlier in the week. Alvarez has now missed the past four games with the hand issue, but he can still be considered day-to-day for the time being. Manager Dusty Baker told reporters earlier in the week that Alvarez is expected to avoid being placed on the injured list. Look for Houston to update his status at some point before Saturday's contest.--Matt T - RotoBaller
