Yovani Gallardo Signs With Reds
7 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds and free-agent pitcher Yovani Gallardo agreed to a one-year deal on Saturday. Gallardo was released by the Milwaukee Brewers at the end of spring training and will work out of the bullpen for Cincinnati. Gallardo, now 32, was once a top-of-the-rotation pitcher but he has struggled over the past few seasons. Manager Bryan Price explained the team's decision to sign him by stating, “Our scouts liked what they saw, especially when he was throwing in those shorter stints, three-inning outings, which he did primarily for Milwaukee this spring and like his stuff. They liked him when he was in Seattle last year out of the bullpen." Gallardo's day of being useful in fantasy are long gone.
