Yu Darvish Squanders Early Lead
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Yu Darvish permitted four earned runs in five innings Tuesday against the Colorado Rockies, taking a no-decision. The right-hander squandered a 4-0 lead, ultimately getting yanked after Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon took him deep to tie the game in the sixth frame. Darvish required 100 pitches, yielding six knocks and two walks while fanning five. Through 84 innings pitched, the 34-year-old maintains a splendid 2.57 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 29 percent strikeout rate. He'll take the bump Sunday at home against the Cincinnati Reds and remains a solid SP1/2.
